CS Professional Suite application won't open or opens minimized in taskbar

If an application does not open, try the following steps. The application may be opening off-screen, minimized, or may be hidden in the taskbar.

  1. Look for the application icon in your taskbar, where all the icons for your open programs normally appear. If you see the icon, continue to the next step. If you do not see the icon, refer to the related articles below.
  2. Hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard and right-click on the application icon on the taskbar.
  3. Choose Maximize or Restore.

On Windows 10, if the above steps do not work:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and choose Display settings.
  2. Click Display in the menu on the left.
  3. Select each monitor and use the Change the size of text, apps, and other items slider to set the same DPI percentage for all monitors.
  4. Sign out of Windows and back in.

If either set of steps work for you, you may be able to prevent this issue by dragging your program to your first monitor before closing it. This can happen because any applications will attempt to open on the same monitor they were last closed from. For example, if you have multiple monitors at the office but only one monitor at home and you close the application from your second monitor at the office, when you open the program at home, it will open offscreen.
