Accounting CS Workpapers
- We have added the Sort Order button in the Setup > Engagement Binders screen so you can easily change the order of binders within the Engagement Binders Tree portlet. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #1034) Details
- When you insert a Workpaper Reference via the Actions > Enter Transactions screen or the Actions > Enter Trial Balance screen, you can now sort and expand all columns. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #254)
- We have added new privilege selections for the Recycle Bin to the Workpapers tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Security Groups screen. Details

- We have added the Firm Tax Codes section of variables to the variable tree.
General-Payroll

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing
In addition to the changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, we have made the following changes for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.
- You can now select multiple pay items when you’re entering standard on-demand payroll in the Actions > Enter Batch Payroll Checks screen. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #818)
- We have updated the XactPay setup and payroll files (used with the Hartford Pay-as-you-go workers’ compensation integration) to the latest versions available. Starting January 1, 2019, all XactPay files transmitted to the Hartford through the application must use these latest versions.
Note: If you process XactPay files for your clients, you will need to use Accounting CS version 2018.3.0 or higher to continue processing XactPay files after January 1, 2019.
- We have renamed the file formats in the Positive Pay section of the Setup > Firm Information > Impound Bank Accounts screen from “Charter One” and “Charter One with payee name” to Citizens Bank and Citizens Bank with payee name.
Payroll compliance
- We have added the ability to enter effective dates for state withholding deposit schedules. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2509) Details
- We have made performance improvements to the loading and processing of files in the Actions > Process EFTPS screen.
- Georgia. We have removed the Internet filing method from Form G-1003. You can still file the form using the Electronic or Paper filing methods.
- Nevada. Effective July 1, 2018, the Nevada Employment Security Division now requires all employers to file Form RPT3795 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the form. Therefore, we have removed the Paper filing method for the form and added the Web fill-in method. You can file the form using the Internet filing method.
Updates for payroll tax forms, tax agents, and new hire files
To search for a specific state, locality, form, or file in one of the sections listed below, follow these steps.
Accounting CS includes two interactive tools that provide valuable payroll tax information.
- The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet provides information on federal, state, and certain local tax agents in the Home Dashboard or Firm Dashboard.
- The State-specific payroll tax form information article provides information on state payroll tax forms, processing tips, due dates, filing methods, agency information, tax payment details, state ID formats, e-filing notes, new hire reporting requirements, and more.
