General

  • We have added the Is Cleared column to the Deposits & Additions tab and the Checks & Payments tab of the Edit > Options dialog in the Actions > Reconcile Bank Accounts screen.
  • We have addressed an issue that prevented Accounting CS from adding vendor direct deposit allocations to unprinted vendor checks that were created from scheduled check templates.

General - Payroll

  • We have updated several fields to use black font color for payroll checks in the Actions > Enter Transactions screen. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2156 and #2669)
  • South Carolina. We have added a Solvency surcharge rate field to the UI Base Rate dialog (accessed from the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Clients screen). Details
    This new field accommodates the new Solvency surcharge tax rate that went into effect on January 1, 2019.
  • Washington. We have updated the workers’ compensation codes that are available for selection for the State of Washington.

Report Designer

  • We have added sections of variables to the Client > Payroll Tax Forms section of the variable tree. Details

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing

In addition to the changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.

  • We have added the Is Cleared column to the Deposits & Additions tab and the Checks & Payments tab of the Edit > Options dialog in the Actions > Reconcile Impound Bank Accounts screen.
  • We have made a number of enhancements to the integration with WorkforceHUB. Details
    • Inactive employees no longer transfer to WorkforceHUB from Accounting CS.
    • Employee pay rates now transfer from WorkforceHUB to Accounting CS.
    • Printed payroll checks are now queued to transfer to WorkforceHUB at 12:00 a.m., or the next time the application is opened after 12:00 a.m.
    • Printed payroll checks now transfer to WorkforceHUB in batches, grouped by print date and pay frequency.
  • For every release, be sure to check the Updates for payroll tax rates, limits, and minimum wage rates (year to date) article to stay on top of changes that may affect your firm and clients.

Payroll compliance

  • You can now create a partial replacement file for Form 1095-C. For more information, see Creating replacement files for Form 1094-C and 1095-C.
  • Indiana
    • The Indiana Department of Workforce Development now requires all employers to file Form UC-1 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the form. Therefore, we have removed the Paper filing method for the form and added the Web fill-in method. You can also file the forms using the Internet filing method.
    • We have added the SOC code field to the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Employees screen (for Indiana only). Details
      For more information about Standard Occupational Classification, visit https://www.bls.gov/soc/.
  • Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development now requires all employers to file Forms LB-0456 and LB-0851 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the forms. Therefore, we have removed the Paper filing method for the forms and added the Web fill-in method. You can also file the forms using the Internet filing method.
  • Vermont. We have updated the Healthcare Contribution rate used for Form WHT-436. Details
    Employers are exempt from paying the Healthcare Contribution if they have four or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. Effective as of first-quarter 2019 reporting, employers must pay an increased Healthcare Contribution amount for each uncovered FTE employee above the four FTE exemption level.
