Our Support department is closed on Friday, April 28th for a company event. However, limited Accounting CS phone support is available on that date from 9 AM - 5 PM ET due to the approaching deadline for quarterly payroll tax forms.

Client templates enable you to add new client records, set up common firm-level policies, and provide a time-saving mechanism for use across clients that are in similar industries. Client templates are automatically installed with new installations of Accounting CS, version 2013.1.0 or higher. If you already have a prior version of the application installed, follow the steps below to download and restore the client templates.

The following sample client templates are available in Accounting CS.

Downloading and restoring the client templates

Use the following procedure to download and restore client templates into your Accounting CS firm database.

  1. Navigate to cs.thomsonreuters.com/support/downloads/ (you may be required to log in).
  2. Click the Accounting CS Template Clients.zip link in the Client Templates section on the right side of the My Product Downloads page to begin downloading the ZIP file to your local drive.
  3. When the download is complete, extract the files from the ZIP file and copy them into X:\WINCSI\Accounting CS Data\Backup, (where X: is the drive location where Accounting CS Shared Files are installed).
  4. In Accounting CS, choose File > Client Data Management Utility.
  5. Select Restore from the drop-down list in the Action field.
  6. Mark the checkbox next to the client template to restore, and then click the Restore Selected button.
  7. Repeat the previous step to restore another template.

Notes

  • You can restore only one client template at a time using the Client Data Management Utility.
  • If you already have a version prior to 2013.1.0 of Accounting CS installed, be sure to create a folder called Backup in the X:\WINCSI\Accounting CS Data\Data folder prior to extracting the contents of the Accounting CS Template Clients ZIP file.
  • To restore sample client templates in Accounting CS via Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), click the Browse button in the File > Client Data Management Utility screen. In the Browse For Folder dialog, click the plus sign (+) to expand the folders for Computer > C$ (\\Client) (V:), and then browse to the application's backup folder location on your local drive.
