If your client no longer uses a particular bank account, you change the status of a bank account to inactive. Inactive bank accounts are not available for selection on new transactions or vendor records.

Change the bank account status to inactive

  1. Choose Setup > Bank Accounts.
  2. Select the appropriate bank account and click Edit.
  3. Mark the Inactive checkbox in the Main tab and save the bank account record.

Change the bank account status to active

  1. Choose Setup > Bank Accounts.
  2. Mark the Include inactive checkbox in the upper-right corner of the screen to display all active and inactive bank accounts.
  3. Select the bank account to reactivate and click Edit.
  4. Clear the Inactive checkbox in the Main tab and save the bank account record.

If an inactive bank account has been selected for any existing unprinted checks, bank account transaction templates, or vendor records, it is important that you select a different (active) bank account for those items. The application will print the checks selected in the File > Print Checks screen, regardless of the bank account status.
