Note: If you are using the Workpapers CS standalone application (the product icon is a green square with a white piece of paper on it), replace the words "Accounting CS" with "Workpapers CS" below.

If there are any pending documents waiting to be printed, try deleting them.

  1. Choose Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

  3. Delete any items that are listed.
  4. If the items cannot be deleted, use these steps:
    1. Choose Start > Run, enter cmd and then click OK.
    2. When Command Prompt opens, type "Net Stop Spooler" without the quotes and press Enter.
    3. Wait for the spooler to stop, and then type "Net Start Spooler" and press Enter.
  5. Go back to Devices and Printers and verify that the items are now removed from the Workpapers CS printer.
  6. Reinstall the Workpapers print driver (see below).

Reinstall the Workpapers print driver

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative Solutions\Accounting CS\Print Driver and run the ACSPrintDriverUninstall.exe file.

  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative Solutions\Accounting CS\Print Driver and run the ACSPrintDriverInstall.exe file.

Verify the Workpapers service is started

Workpapers CS also includes a print service. Verify it is running by using these steps:

  1. Choose Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. Click the Name column to sort the list, and then find "Workpapers CS Print Service"
  3. Verify that the Status is Started (Running in Windows 10) and the Startup Type is Automatic.
    1. You can change either of these settings by right clicking.

Print driver isolation

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click Administrative Tools. (Note: The options that are available depend on whether the Control Panel is in Category, Small icons, or Large icons view mode.)
    1. When in the Category view mode, choose System and Security.
    2. In the Small or Large icons view mode, choose Administrative tools.
  3. Choose Print Management from the list. If this option is not available, continue to the next step.

  5. Verify that the Driver Isolation column in the middle pane indicates None for the Workpapers CS driver.
  6. If the driver indicates something other than None, right-click the driver and choose Set Isolation level > None.
  7. If the driver indicates None, continue to the next troubleshooting step.

Check permissions

See Permissions guidelines for the CS Professional Suite and Terminal Server Best Practices for CS Professional Suite applications to make sure the appropriate permissions are set at both the server and workstation.

Note: The applicable permissions information is listed under FileCabinet CS. These are the exact same permissions needed for the Workpapers Print Driver. Replace "FileCabinet CS" with "Workpapers CS" as needed.

Internal only

Continued: Verify the workpapers service is started

RARE: The service is pointing to the incorrect executable.

  1. Right-click on the Workpapers CS Print Service and choose Properties.
  2. Verify that the Path to executable field says "C:\windows\wpsvc.exe"
  3. If the path is wrong, you will need to modify the registry key.
  4. Choose Start > Run and then type in "regedit" without the quotes and press OK.
  5. It is important to make a registry backup before continuing with the next two steps!!
  6. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\WPCSvc\Parameters.
  7. Change the Data value for the ServiceDll item.

VO/SaaS Users

Every time a VO or SaaS user logs in, they are randomly assigned a server. Use these steps to see if the problem is server-specific.

  1. In the System Tray, right-click the Citrix Workspace icon and choose About.
  2. Under Advanced, click the Connection Center link.
  3. Write down the server name the user is connected to (formatted similar to EG-NASCSI-A250).
  4. Log out and log back in.
  5. If the problem does NOT persist, contact the Systems or Web Services CF - the problem is server specific at this point.
