We have phased out the individual client PIN filing method for 94x forms in Accounting CS. This decision was based on a request from the IRS and is explained in their May 2019 QuickAlert Message (See, specifically, the message from May 17, 2019).

As of the 2021.1.0 release, the Actions > Enroll > 94x client PIN screen has been removed to complete the phaseout of the individual client PIN filing method for 94x forms.

For information about registering as a reporting agent and filing using a single PIN, refer to the E-filing 94x forms - overview.

As of the 2019.2.0 release, you can no longer transmit 94x client PIN enrollment files in the Actions > Enroll 94X Client PIN screen. The Transmit PINs button is now grayed out and unavailable.

Until June 30, 2020, you could still file as an electronic return originator (ERO) using individual client PINs for clients who already have a PIN assigned to them by the IRS. We also made you aware that the IRS may contact you about using this filing method.

As of July 1, 2020, CS Connect rejected any 94x returns that are filed using individual client PINs by an electronic return originator (ERO). We strongly recommended that you register as a reporting agent as soon as possible to avoid any delays in electronically filing your clients' 94x returns.
