E-filing notes

UI WORKSHEET and DEED-1D

  • Registration is required with the Minnesota Secretary of State as a payroll service or accountant to have the file transfer option.
  • File format - ICESA
  • Navigate to the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance home page and choose Employer Login. Sign in to E-File via the file transfer option.

Minnesota withholding worksheets MW-1 and MW5

  • Registration is required with the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
  • File format - Fixed length.
  • The files are created using very specific formats and you must ensure that your format selections match those listed in the Minnesota withholding worksheets file formats

Notes

Navigate to the Minnesota Department of Revenue and log in to e-File Minnesota. Select the format options exactly as noted below.

  • Date: YYYYMMDD
  • Amount: 1000.00
  • Setting for the "Skip the first lines of the file" field: 0
  • Format option: Fixed Length Format

State ID formats

Unemployment ID: 8 digits (dashes and spaces removed if entered)

Withholding ID: 7 digits (note the first digit cannot be a zero).
