Before you can start using Bank Feeds, the client must first grant you permission to access their account information. Use the Bank Feeds - Link Account dialog to request that the client link their account to Accounting CS so that you can access their data.

To access the Bank Feeds - Link Account dialog, click the Link Account button in either of the following locations.

If your client has already linked their account, but the information is outdated or needs to be updated for any reason (for example, the password or multi-factor authentication questions need to be updated), use the Bank Feeds - Update Account dialog to request that the client update their account information.

The Bank Feeds - Update Account dialog opens automatically when you click the Retrieve Data button in the Bank Feeds portlet and Accounting CS determines that the account information needs to be updated.

After the client successfully registers and links their account or updates their account, the application sends your firm an email to let you know that the account is ready for Bank Feeds.

Fields & buttons

Select the client email address for the application to send the client an email requesting that they register and link their account. The drop-down list for this field includes all contacts for whom an email address was entered in the client's Additional Contacts dialog (accessed by clicking the Ellipsis button in the Additional Contacts section of the Setup > Clients > Main tab).

If the client's email address is not in the list, click the Add a contact link next to the drop-down list.

Enter the firm email address for the application to send an email letting you know that your client has successfully linked or updated their account.
