The Funding dialog allows you to select transactions to fund. Once transactions are selected here and processed, you can then create ACH files for the funding transactions.

Choose Actions > Process Direct Deposit and then click the Funding button.

Fields & buttons

You can filter the data that is displayed in the Funding dialog by using the filter. For information about filtering data in screens, see the Searching and filtering data procedure.

By default, the Funding grid displays all currently unprocessed funding transactions. Marking this checkbox and selecting a date range causes the grid to include previously processed funding transactions that have already been added to ACH files with a transaction date within the specified range.

Liabilities that have been deferred due to the Coronavirus response acts are hidden by default. To include these transactions in the grid, mark this checkbox. For more information, see COVID-19 employer Social Security tax changes and COVID-19: Deferral of employee Social Security tax withholding.

By default the grid displays all currently unprocessed funding files. Mark the checkboxes next to all the transactions for which you want to create ACH files. Click the plus and minus signs to expand and collapse the transaction lists. You can choose to select or deselect all transactions by right-clicking anywhere within the screen.

There is a Notes column available in the grid for each individual transaction. The notes you enter in this field display on the Funding Activity report and also flow into the Notes tab in the Enter Transactions screen

Notes

  • When you click the Process button, the transactions that you have selected and processed in the Funding grid are automatically selected for ACH file processing in the Actions > Process Direct Deposit screen.
  • In addition, if you want the application to select any associated transactions in the Process Direct Deposit screen for ACH file processing, mark the Automatically select associated direct deposit transactions after processing funding transactions checkbox in the Process Direct Deposit Options dialog (accessed by choosing Edit > Options from the Process Direct Deposit screen).
  • The Funding grid includes a Group by field that enables you to group items in the grid. For details, see Grouping items in data-entry grids.

As you select transactions for funding, the application displays the total amount being funded for each funding transaction type.

The Add Funding button allows you to create a funding transaction on the fly. Click the button to open a small window and enter all the information necessary to create the transaction. You can then process this new transaction and add it to an ACH file along with the other funding transactions.

Click the Process button to process the selected funding transactions and display and them in the Process Direct Deposit screen, where you can then include them in ACH files.

When the Funding dialog closes after processing, the application automatically selects the processed funding transactions for ACH file processing in the Actions > Process Direct Deposit screen. If you want the application to also automatically select any associated transactions, mark the Automatically select associated direct deposit transactions after processing funding transactions checkbox in the Process Direct Deposit Options dialog (accessed by choosing Edit > Options from the Process Direct Deposit screen).
