For licensed users of Accounting CS Workpapers
You can set up signoff types to assign to staff members working in an engagement. This provides a convenient method to track the status of a workpaper at any phase in the engagement process. Signoffs can be added to workpapers in the Engagement Binders Tree and the Workpapers List portlets of the View > Workpapers Dashboard.
Choose Setup > Firm Information > Signoff Types.
Special information
- Two default signoff types are available in Workpapers CS (Preparer and Reviewer). You can rename or delete these signoff types, as needed.
- Each signoff type is listed in the Engagement Binders Tree and Workpapers List portlets as a separate column.
Note: A column for each unique signoff type is added in the Engagement Binders Tree portlet and the Workpapers List portlet when a signoff is applied to workpapers in the engagement binder. We recommend that you limit the number of signoff types that you create to prevent the need for excessive horizontal scrolling to view the entire portlet.
- The application displays the signoff type assignments for each workpaper in the View > Workpapers Dashboard.
- You can add signoffs to a workpaper via the right-click context menu in the Engagement Binders Tree portlet and the Workpapers List portlet.
- You can edit signoffs for a single workpaper at a time in the Workpapers List portlet.
- You can delete signoffs for a single workpaper at a time in the Workpapers List portlet.
