The Workpapers service enables you to store and manage workpapers electronically within Accounting CS, and much more.

Features & benefits

• Record and reconcile differences between Adjusted Net Income and Tax Net Income by creating tax code adjustment entries directly to a tax code.
• Make adjusting journal entries directly in the Enter Trial Balance screen and view their effects on the Trial Balance in real time.
• Consolidate balances for selected clients into a single master client, by account number or by account grouping.
• Add basic client setup information in batch format directly from UltraTax CS.
• Create engagement binders from template clients or from another client's engagement binders.
• Take advantage of the Workpapers Dashboard views to customize the workspace.
• Store virtually any type of file within an engagement binder.
• Organize and file all currently active engagement documentation in one location.
• Use the Engagement Binders Tree portlet to view folders and workpapers in a tree-view layout. Alternatively, use the Workpapers List portlet to display a list of all workpapers for a specific engagement binder.
• Transmit, retrieve, and organize 1040 tax workpapers from the Source Document Processing folder.
• Transfer 1040 tax engagement information for source data entry and export into UltraTax CS.
• Attach notes to workpapers, folders, and engagements, and view them in the Notes portlet or the Notes List portlet within the Workpapers Dashboard. See Working with Notes for details.
• Set up an unlimited number of signoff types, and sign off on workpapers either from the Engagement Binders Tree portlet or from the Workpapers List portlet.
• Create customized Microsoft Excel workpapers by using the step-by-step instructions in the Add Workpaper wizard. See Add Workpaper Wizard for details.
• Use the application's built-in PDF editor to make annotations (including stamps, highlights, and comments) directly in PDF workpapers.

Special information

• Workpapers CS is sold on a per-seat basis (4 seats per bundle). One seat is assigned to each staff ID with the appropriate security privileges set up to work in assigned engagement binders.
• As a best practice it is recommended that you create separate security groups (perhaps based on task) and assign the Administrator staff id to one staff member with all privileges, known as the product champion.
