Before you process CBS client data, we recommend that you first print any notes from your client using the Notes report. All notes need to be addressed and deleted before you can transfer the data to CSA.

Processing transactions

  1. Choose Utilities > Accountant's Assistant > Client Bookkeeping Solution.
  2. In Accountant's Assistant, retrieve data from an exported CBS client.
  3. Choose Edit > Process Transactions to open the Transactions window.
  4. Review the transactions. Look for missing account numbers, which automatically have a note attached to them, and address any notes from your client.

Note: You can automatically replace all blank accounts with the Undistributed account by choosing Edit > Replace Blank Accounts.

  5. (Optional) To edit the account for any transaction, select that transaction in the Transaction window, then choose Edit > Edit Accounts. Click here for more information.
  6. After addressing notes, you can delete them by choosing Edit > Delete Notes For This Journal or Edit > Delete Notes For All Journals. You can also choose this command from the context menu by right-clicking on the note.

Notes

  • The Edit > Delete Notes For This Journal and Edit > Delete Notes For All Journals commands appear only if the Transactions window is active.
  • You cannot view or edit payroll notes in the Transactions window. To view and delete payroll notes, you must view or print the Notes Report from the File > Print Reports dialog. Click Yes when prompted to delete all notes after you have finished viewing or printing the Notes Report.
