Setting up journals for a CBS client

If you are not using separate journals in CSA, the Setup > Journals command will be disabled. To use journals in CSA, choose Client Properties from the CSA File menu, click the General Ledger tab, and mark the Use separate journals in transaction data entry checkbox. You will also need to add Journals in your CSA client before you can complete the steps in this procedure. For more information on adding journals in CSA, click here.

Note: None of the fields are required in the Journals dialog. If not provided, it will default to the General journal.

  1. Choose Setup > Journals to open the Journals dialog.
  2. For all the CBS modules for which you are licensed, select the journal.

    For example, if you are licensed for the CBS PayCheck module and want to have journal entries made for Payroll transactions, select the journal in which you want those entries to be made from the Payroll journal entries drop-down list.

  3. Click OK.
