After completing the required information in the New Client dialog (including the Chart of Accounts mask) and before you can begin processing for the client, there are a number of additional steps to complete in several different setup windows and dialogs - beginning with the Setup > Chart of Accounts dialog.

The account detail grid in the Chart of Accounts window includes columns for the beginning balance, debit, credit, balance, budget amounts, and tax code for each account. From this window, you may also add new accounts, edit existing accounts, or delete existing accounts. Options exist that allow you to skip certain fields when entering account information, to display account information for all periods, and to select the columns you wish to display and in what order.

If the client's Chart of Accounts mask (as specified in the Trial Balance tab of the File > New Client dialog) includes Ls or Ds for locations or departments, additional commands are available from the Chart of Accounts window for setting up location/department information.
