Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. Use this procedure to transfer general ledger account balances (based on tax code assignment) from a Write-Up CS or Trial Balance CS client into the client's database within GoSystem Tax RS.

Steps in CSA

Specify the appropriate tax codes (from the Setup > Chart of Accounts window in CSA).

Steps in GoSystem Tax RS

  1. Open the client in GoSystem Tax RS and choose File > Import > From CSA.
  2. In the Import CSA Wizard dialog, browse to the location of the CSA program files (for example, c:\Wincsi\CSA) and the CSA data location (for example, c:\Wincsi\CSAData).
  3. In the bottom section of the Import CSA Wizard dialog, highlight the CSA client whose balances you want to import and click Next.

    Note: If there are no clients listed in the bottom section of the dialog, verify that the locations of the program and data files are correctly specified.

  4. Mark the checkbox for each type of item to import into GoSystem Tax RS.
  5. Specify the type of balances to import. (This option is available for a Trial Balance CS client only.)
  6. Click Next.
  7. When the Import is complete, click the Finish button.

Notes

  • If the imported balances are incorrect, the import file used by GoSystem Tax RS may need to be updated. To force an update of the file, open the client in CSA, choose File > Close Client, and then import again.
  • When importing amounts for the Schedule M-3 in GoSystem Tax RS, balances must be imported as adjusted balances. The amounts for columns B and C will be calculated based on the Tax Adjustment journal entries entered in the CSA client. If the amounts for columns B and C are incorrect, the import file used by GoSystem Tax RS may need to be updated. To force an update of the file, open the client in CSA, choose File > Close Client, and then import again.
