Engagement CS integrates with Microsoft Word to allow CSA trial balance information to be linked in Word documents. When you open Word from within Engagement CS, you can take advantage of the Engagement CS pull-down menu and toolbar. With Engagement CS you can combine Word's formatting features while simultaneously linking to CSA client data. See Opening a Word document from Engagement CS.

Integration with Word is a one-way link from the CSA client database to Word. The Word workpaper refreshes automatically when it is first opened in Engagement CS. Subsequent updates made to the client's database in CSA are reflected in the workpaper when you click the Recalculate recalculate button from the Engagement CS toolbar or pull-down menu in Word.

You can take advantage of the integration functionality between Engagement CS and Microsoft Word to mark procedures as completed and insert hyperlinks to other workpapers within the current engagement.

Special information

  • You can copy existing Word document into the Engagement CS workspace to take advantage of the add-in menu items.
  • You can use the Create Workpaper wizard from the File menu and select the option to add an existing file into Engagement CS.

Note: A copy of the document that now includes the CSA functionality will be inserted into the engagement when you open an existing workpaper in Engagement CS. The original Word document will remain intact in the original location.

Menu commands

To open the Engagement CS add-in menu, right-click in the Word document when it is launched from Engagement CS either inside or outside of the engagement workspace.
