When running Write-Up CS or Trial Balance CS in the Virtual Office CS environment, use this procedure to transfer general ledger account balances and journal entry detail to GoSystem Tax RS.

Steps in CSA

  1. In CSA, open the client database and choose Utilities > GoSystem Tax RS Export.
  2. Specify the location on your local hard drive where you want to save the export file and click OK to create the export file.

Steps in GoSystem Tax RS

  1. Open the client database and choose Access > Trial Balance.
  2. From the Trial Balance window, choose File > Import.
  3. In the Import dialog, select G/L Package if importing from Write-Up CS, or select Audit Package if importing from Trial Balance CS. Select the option for CSA, and click the Import button.
  4. Specify the path and file name of the GLE file that you saved to the location on your local hard drive in step 2 of the section above, mark the checkbox for each type of item to import into GoSystem Tax RS, and (for trial balance imports) specify the type of balances to import.
  5. Click the Import button.
  6. When the Import is complete, click the Done button.

    Note: If the imported balances are not correct, you may need to update the import file used by GoSystem Tax RS. To force an update of the file, follow these steps: (a) open the client in CSA and then choose File > Close Client; (b) export the balances again from CSA; (c) repeat the import into GoSystem Tax RS.

  7. To update the balances in GoSystem Tax RS, choose Options > Calculate Now.
  8. Merge the data into the tax return by choosing Options > Merge Now.
