Choose Restore from the File menu to restore the open client or multiple selected clients from previously saved backup files, to restore global data (affecting all clients) from backups, or to restore program update files from backup files.

Note: When restoring a backed up file the client files presently on the system are overwritten. Any changes since the last backup will be lost.

To restore client data:

Choose Clients from the drop-down list in the first field in the Restore dialog. Double-click one or more of the clients listed in the left (Available) pane to move them to the right (Selected) pane, or click the Select All button. The open client (if any) is automatically listed in the Selected pane. Click the Restore button.

Note: A backup file is in the ZIP format. The file must be in a folder when restoring the client.

Example: Client ID 12345 has a backup file named 12345.ZIP. A folder named 12345 must be created and the ZIP file placed inside. This folder may be on the C:\ drive. If the folder is on the local drive of C:\, the restore path would be C:\. The restore path would not be C:\12345.

Also, if the Client ID is more than eight characters, e.g. 123456789, the folder name would be 12345678.9 and the zip file name would be 12345678.ZIP.

Tip! If restoring client data that was not backed up using the File / Backup feature within Creative Solutions Accounting (e.g. it was copied within Windows Explorer), follow the instructions below to restore the client data.
