Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017.

Some processes documented in the Help & How-To Center are no longer applicable, due to the discontinuation of these CSA modules.

When you are ready to prepare the form, complete the following steps.

Form DE 9, Form DE 9C, or Form DE 88ALL

  1. Choose File > Print.
  2. Mark the Queue checkbox next to Form DE 9, Form DE 9C, or Form DE 8ALL, and then click OK.
  3. Choose File > FSET Utilities > Queue Maintenance to delete any files prior to transmission via CS Connect.
  4. Choose File > FSET Utilities > FSET Maintenance to view or delete any return or acknowledgement files.
  5. When you are ready to send your files to California, click the Done button to close the Payroll Tax Processing window and then choose File > CS Connect.
  6. In the CS Connect dialog, mark the Transmit returns checkbox in the Electronic filing section. Use the Electronic filing tab to select the files to be sent and then click the Call Now button.

    Note: The Transmit returns checkbox will transmit both state and federal files. If you would like to send only California files, use the Electronic filing tab to select them for submission.

  7. Once California has accepted or rejected your file(s), you will receive an acknowledgement file via CS Connect. To download the acknowledgement file, open the CS Connect dialog, mark the Retrieve acknowledgements checkbox in the Electronic filing section, and click the Call Now button.
  8. If acknowledgements were downloaded, you can view them in the FSET Maintenance dialog by choosing Utilities > Payroll Tax Processing, selecting California, and then choosing File > FSET Utilities > FSET Maintenance.
