For details, see CSA license expiration 2017 – frequently asked questions.

Some processes documented in the Help & How-To Center are no longer applicable, due to the discontinuation of these CSA modules.

Determine your filing options

Are you filing on paper or electronically?

Filing by paper: Order the forms necessary for processing.

Note: The IRS does not currently accept Form 1099 Copy A and 1096 on blank paper. You will need to use the pre-printed red scannable forms.

Filing electronically: Register to file electronically

Note: The CSA Home Page provides additional information on e-filing for your state.

Download the 2012 version of AccuWage

The SSA provides an application called AccuWage, which scans your W-2 files. The AccuWage application is available for download from the Social Security Administration's website at www.ssa.gov/employer/accuwage/ to verify file structure for W-2 files. The AccuWage application identifies most of the common format errors in wage submissions. Using this application greatly reduces submission rejections and is very easy to use.
