Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

The Vermont Payroll Tax module supports the following forms:

Choose Utilities > Payroll Tax Processing and then either click the VT state flag icon on the shortcut bar or choose View > Vermont. Click the appropriate tab to access the desired form. (Vermont must be selected in the Payroll tab of the Client Properties dialog in order for the VT flag to appear on the shortcut bar.)

Note: Payroll tax processing data is kept in separate files, so any changes made to the retrieved data will not carry back to your payroll data.

Special information

For an after-the-fact payroll client: To enable the wage type information for a salaried employee to be correctly retrieved for the Vermont payroll tax forms, you need to do the following for each relevant employee record:

  1. Choose Setup > Employees, navigate to the employee record, and click the Earnings tab.
  2. For the first pay item in the employee's Home department, click the /_images/acct_pr/csa/details.gif button to open the Item Properties dialog.
  3. In the Item Properties dialog, click the Other tab, enter an S in the Special Text 2 field, and then click OK to return to the Employees window.
  4. Click the Enter button to save the information.

Vermont Health Care Assessment

For each state that you will be processing for a client, you must first enter the two-character state postal code in the Payroll tab of the File > Client Properties dialog.

To have the application calculate SUTA amounts and the SUTA Worksheet report, the state field must be completed for the applicable state(s) for each employee - in the Other tab of the Setup > Employees window.
