Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

To set up a vendor for discretionary tax payments, follow these steps.

Note: We recommend that you prenote tax deposit and withdrawal bank accounts just as you would prenote payroll, vendor, and checkbook accounts. To prenote the vendor, choose Tasks > Prenote from the Maintain Electronic Transaction Files dialog. When prenoting, the Process electronic payment checkbox in the Vendors window must be unmarked.

  1. From the main CSA window, choose Utilities > Direct Deposit.
  2. From the Maintain Electronic Transaction Files dialog, choose Tasks > Discretionary Tax Payment.
  3. In the Discretionary Tax Payment dialog, enter the appropriate deposit and withdrawal bank information.
  4. In the Payment information section, specify the tax type, Federal or State or Local.
  5. For a federal tax type: Select the appropriate payment reason from the drop-down list. For a state or local tax type: Enter the appropriate tax type and, if necessary, provide a state taxpayer ID override.
  6. Enter the appropriate distribution and amount type information for the tax payment.

Note: The fields for amounts and amount types vary depending on the tax type options you have chosen above and not all fields will be available for all tax types.

  7. Enter the period end date.
  8. Click the Write tax payment button, and then click OK.
