A check layout is a picture of what should appear on the check when it is printed; however, the names for the various elements of a check - such as the date, amount, payee, and so forth - appear on the check layout rather than the information or values that would print on an actual check.

Use the Checkbook Setup dialog to choose the check layout that you wish to use for a selected checkbook:

  • Payroll layout (*.ely)
  • Vendor layout (*.vly)

Note: To create or modify a check layout, choose System Configuration from the Setup menu and then choose Check Layout Editor.
