Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

  1. Choose Setup > Vendors.
  2. In the Vendors window, click the Add button.
  3. In the General tab, only the Name field is required. You may use the other fields to enter the vendor's address, phone, contact person, EIN, and vendor account number (if any).

Note: The Account # field on the General tab is not for the GL account number. During a later step in this procedure, enter the default GL account number(s) for the vendor in the Standard Check grid on the Distributions tab.

  4. Select the Payee type.

To have the application properly calculate and store information required for printing Form 1099 at year end, you must do the following in the Setup > Vendors window: (a) select the 1099 recipient option on the General tab, (b) select a 1099 item for the vendor in 1099 distributions grid of the Distributions tab, and (c) select a 1099 item for the vendor in the Standard check grid on the Distributions tab. For a Write-Up CS client, also enter a GL account number on the same line as the 1099 item.

  5. After-the-fact payroll client only: Click the Alternate Address tab and enter the vendor's mailing address if different from the address entered on the General tab.
  6. Payroll CS or Vendor Checkwriting client: Click the Address and Accounts tab and enter the vendor's mailing address if different from the address entered on the General tab. If applicable, also complete the following fields:
    • Reminder Threshold
    • G/L account triggers
    • Automatically consolidate entries
    • Check memo
  7. Click the Distributions tab and complete the following fields if applicable for the selected vendor:
    • 1099 distributions
    • Standard check
  8. Click the 1099 Boxes tab, and choose the form type from the drop-down list and then mark the applicable checkboxes.
  9. Click the Enter button to save the vendor record.
