Calculation profiles are sets of calculation options that are commonly used in payroll check entry for a client. The calculation profile controls which employees (according to pay item frequency) are available during payroll check entry and which, if any, calculations to override or suspend during the current payroll entry session. You can define one or more sets of these calculation options.

During payroll check entry, you may use the client's default profile or select a different one by choosing Edit > Options or from the F3 or right-click context menu.

  1. Choose Setup > Calculation Profiles to open the Calculation Profiles dialog.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. Click the General tab, and enter or select any applicable calculation profile information. The Description field is required.
  4. To set the current calculation profile as the default profile for this client, mark the checkbox to the right of the Description field.
  5. Choose one of two options in the Focus Employees group box.
  6. To exclude certain calculations for calculations based on this profile, mark the appropriate checkboxes in the Calculations to turn off group box.
  7. If applicable for this selected profile, click the Deduction and Withholding Overrides tab to specify the appropriate information in the following group boxes:
    • Exclude deductions
    • Withholding override percentages

Note: If you selected a non-periodic frequency in the Focus Employees options, you must also enter the appropriate withholding information in the Withholding override percentages fields in order for amounts to be withheld.

  8. Click the Enter button to save the information.
  9. Click the Done button to close the Calculations Profile dialog.
