Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

To set up a pay item not subject to SUTA or FUTA taxes, begin by copying and modifying an existing pay item.

  1. Choose Setup > System Configuration > Pay Items and find an appropriate pay item to copy and modify.
  2. Highlight the pay item, press F3 to open the context menu, and then choose Copy Pay Item.
  3. Enter a unique description for the new pay item, click the Tax Treatment tab, and clear the Federal Unemployment checkbox.
  4. In the Tax Treatment tab, choose Selected from the drop-down list in the State Taxes field and mark the applicable taxes for each relevant state but do not mark the SUT checkbox.
  5. Click the Enter button to save the new pay item.
