Keyboard shortcuts are special keys (such as F1 and ESC) that you use either alone or in combination with SHIFT, CTRL, or CTRL+SHIFT. These keyboard shortcuts enable you to access various types of help, to execute certain menu commands, to quickly navigate through fields in windows and dialogs, or to open drop-down lists without having to use the mouse.

The following table lists the keyboard shortcuts in your Creative Solutions Accounting application.

CTRL+N Open the File > New Client dialog
CTRL+O Open the File > Open Client dialog
CTRL+P Open the File > Print Reports dialog
CTRL+S Add an item to the drop-down list in a custom fieldview
CTRL+W Open a dialog to add or edit items to the drop-down list in a custom fieldview

CTRL+C Copy
CTRL+V Paste
CTRL+W Edit a custom fieldview
CTRL+Z Undo last change
Shortcut Keys Navigating and Special Functions
CTRL+F Find a record (based on the text you specify)
CTRL+L Search within a drop-down list for specific text or character string.
(Press CTRL+R to continue searching for the next instance of the character string.)
CTRL+R Resume search for the next instance of specific text or character string within a drop-down list
F2 Save data and return to the previous window or dialog
F3 Open a "context menu" relevant to the selected dialog or field
F4 Open the drop-down list attached to current field
F5 Refresh display
F6, SHIFT+F6 Move forward or backward among the views in Financial Reporter module
CTRL+F6 Move between open windows
F7 Display the popup calculator (from amount field only)
F8 In Write-Up CS, switch between Transactions window and Payroll Check Entry window
F9 Move to previous field
F10 Move to next field
END Move to last character in current field
ENTER "Press" the default button
ESC Close dialog without saving changes
HOME Move to first character of current field
CTRL+HOME Move to first record in window or dialog (while in Browse mode)
CTRL+END Move to last record in window or dialog (while in Browse mode)
PAGE UP Move to previous check in Payroll Check Entry dialog
PAGE DOWN Move to next check in Payroll Check Entry dialog
TAB Move forward through fields or make selection from drop-down list
CTRL+TAB Move to next tabbed page
SHIFT+CTRL+TAB Move to previous tabbed page

<left arrow>

Move one character to left within a field

<right arrow>

Move one character to right within a field

CTRL+<left arrow>

Move to beginning of field

CTRL+<right arrow>

Move to end of field

For a GL-only client, open the Tasks > Transactions window

For a GL client with payroll (Payroll CS or the Payroll Compliance module), switch between the Tasks > Transactions window and the Tasks > Payroll Check Entry window

CTRL+E Open the Tasks > Payroll Check Entry window
CTRL+T Open the Tasks > Transactions window
CTRL+B (or ALT+B) … Balance entry
F5 … Post transactions
CTRL+G … View GL activity
CTRL+I … Calculate YTD income or loss

From an MS Excel or MS Word workpaper opened from within Engagement CS:
CTRL+ALT+A Inserts "N/A" notation at the cursor position
CTRL+ALT+G Marks as procedure completed (inserts user initials and system date at the cursor position)
CTRL+ALT+J Inserts a checkmark at the cursor position
