Use the Transactions window to review non-payroll transactions before transferring them to CSA. You can review and delete notes, replace blank accounts with the Undistributed account, change account numbers on any transaction, and sort the transactions according to entry order, reference, date, or account.

Note: Notes from the client are not supported with client data imported from QuickBooks Pro.

Choose Tasks > Process Transactions, or click the Process transactions button icon on the shortcut bar.

Special information

  • CBS transactions that have been retrieved into Accountant's Assistant will appear in the Transactions window.
  • You can limit the transactions you can see in the Transactions window by journal. Choose the journal whose transaction you wish to see by selecting it from the drop-down list in the Journal field at the top of the window.
  • To use multiple journals for the client, first mark the Use separate journals in transactions data entry checkbox in the General Ledger tab of the CSA File > Client Properties dialog and then define each journal in the CSA Setup > Journals dialog. You may then set up the journals in which you want transactions to be entered in the Accountant's Assistant Setup > Journals dialog. Otherwise, all transactions are automatically entered in the General journal. When importing client data from QuickBooks Pro, separate journals are not supported and all transactions are entered in the General journal.
  • There are two other default journals in this drop-down list, Other Fiscal Years and Other Period in Current Year, to make it easier to view your transactions even if you are not using separate journals. Any transaction that appears in these journals will transfer to the specified period and journal in CSA.
  • If you are processing client data imported from QuickBooks Pro, you can use only the three default journals in the Process Transactions window to sort the transactions.
  • When the Transactions window is active in Accountant's Assistant, several special commands are available from the Edit menu or from the F3 or right-click context menu.
