Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017.

For details, see CSA license expiration 2017 – frequently asked questions.

Some processes documented in the Help & How-To Center are no longer applicable, due to the discontinuation of these CSA modules.

The Account Changes Report lists accounts with changes from the prior year, including new accounts, items added or changed on an existing account, and deleted accounts. The report also indicates if the account is new, deleted, or changed (indicated with an asterisk* in the Changed column).

Open the File > Print Reports dialog using any of the following methods.

On the Reports tab in the Print dialog, double-click Account Changes to move this report to the Selected pane. With Account Changes still highlighted, click the Options button to open the print options dialog for this report.

In the following example, account 100 is an existing account for which the description, account number, and Grouping Schedule 1 Code were changed in the current year (2007); also account 107 was added. (For this example, all changed items are outlined in red.)

Print options

Print options for a report may be saved as part of a report profile. Otherwise, print options automatically revert to their default settings when you deselect a report for printing or exit the Print dialog (unless the Save report options checkbox is marked in the Print tab of the Setup > User Preferences dialog).

General tab

  • The following items are printed regardless of the options selected.
    • Account numbers for all changed accounts.
    • New and deleted accounts.
  • All items are considered changes in a new or deleted account, but only the selected items will be included in the report. For example, if you choose to print only the Tax Code and Account Description for a new account, only the account number, tax code, and description are printed. If no items are selected, only the account number is printed.
  • The Account Changes Report is updated to reflect changes in the latest year the first time the year end is closed. The report is not affected when you move between prior periods as the report always compares the latest year end to the previous year.
  • Account changes that are reflected in this report are based on information from the prior year-end and current period even in interim clients. The Account Changes Report does not print changes between two periods in the same year of an interim basis client.
  • Only Trial Balance CS clients have the option to include grouping schedules in the Account Changes Report.
