The Check List dialog enables you to search for an existing check record in the current checkbook and current period and then quickly navigate to that record in the Payroll Check Entry window.

When the Payroll Check Entry window is active, choose Check List from the Edit menu or from the right-click context menu. Click any of the column heading buttons to sort the list and double-click the check you wish to edit or view. This returns you to the Payroll Check Entry window with the selected item as the current check record.

Special information

  • The Check List dialog displays one record for every check in the selected checkbook for this period.
  • Check records cannot be edited in the Check List dialog.
  • The checks are sorted first by check number, with unprinted checks following in entry order. Click any column heading to re-sort the checks by that field. (To revert to the original sort order, close the dialog and re-enter it.)
  • When the Check List dialog is initially accessed, the check record currently selected in the Payroll Check Entry window will be highlighted. If a new (blank) check record was currently selected, the last check record in the list will be highlighted.
  • Use the up or down arrow keys on your keyboard to move the highlight through the list. Click an individual record to highlight it, or double-click it to open that record in the Payroll Check Entry window. The cursor will rest on the Employee field.
  • To close the Check List dialog and return to the Payroll Check Entry window with the record you were on prior to opening the Checks List dialog once again displayed, click Cancel.
