The data sharing feature in CSA enables you to general client and employee data (based on the SSN/EIN) across all Creative Solutions Accounting applications and also between CSA and other CS Professional Suite applications:
- CSA can share general client data with Creative Solutions Practice, Practice CS, and Fixed Assets CS.
- CSA can share general client and employee data plus W-2 and 1099-R data with UltraTax CS.
To enable data sharing in CSA, click the Data Sharing tab on the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog, and then mark the Enable Data Sharing checkbox.
To view pending updates to data for the selected CSA client, choose Utilities > Data Sharing.
Fields & buttons
Lists the client type and name of the currently selected CSA client.
For details about information to be updated, refer to the Data Comparison List at the bottom of this dialog.
The fields in this group box identify the source of the newer data that the application will use to update existing data - including the client ID, client name, application source (CSA, Creative Solutions Practice, or UltraTax CS), client status, and entity name of the client with the more recent data.
Lists the client data items in the category highlighted in the Category List at the top of this dialog. The list includes the name of the field where the update will take place, the current value in that field, and the newer value that is available to update the current information.
Use the checkboxes next to each item to choose whether you will accept newer data or to retain existing data on an item-by-item basis.
Click this button to either mark or unmark all of the checkboxes in the Data Comparison List.
Note that you may choose to mark or unmark individual checkboxes.
To have CSA automatically open the Data Sharing dialog each time you open a client that has a data sharing update pending, mark this checkbox.
To view data sharing updates when this checkbox is not marked, choose Utilities > Data Sharing.
Accepts the selected changes to the open client's data. Use the checkboxes in the Data Comparison List to specify which changes you want to accept and which you wish to discard.
Note: To defer changes to a later time, click the Postpone button.
Closes this dialog while leaving the pending changes marked but not yet accepted. The next time you open this client's data in CSA, the Data Sharing dialog will appear with the same pending update information displayed.
