To specify general CSA program features that should be accessible by all members of the selected group, mark the appropriate checkboxes in the General tab of the Group Privileges dialog.
When adding a new group, all checkboxes are unmarked as the default setting. Note that if a checkbox is unmarked, access to a feature is denied to all staff members of the group.
Fields & buttons
Mark the appropriate checkboxes to specify the CSA program features that should be accessible by all members of the selected group. - Client properties. Enables group members to edit information for existing clients in the File > Client Properties dialog.
- Client passwords. Enables group members to assign new client passwords and to use the data sharing features to access client data.
- Delete clients. Enables group members to delete any client using the File > Delete Clients dialog.
- FileCabinet backup. For licensed users of FileCabinet CS; enables group members to access the FileCabinet tab of the Administration dialog.
- Data sharing activation. Enables group members to access the Data Sharing tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog.
- Add > Edit groups. Enables group members to access the Groups tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog.
- Add > Edit staff. Enables group members to access the Staff tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog.
- GoFileRoom Index Mapping. For licensed users of GoFileRoom; enables group members to access the Setup > System Configuration > GoFileRoom Index Mapping dialog.
- Text variables. Enables group members to edit information in the Setup > System Configuration > Text Variables dialog.
- Transmittal letter editor. Enables groups members to create or modify transmittal letters using the Setup > Transmittal Letter command.
- Change period. Enables groups members to open and use the File > Select Period to Process dialog.
- Access prior periods. Enables groups members to move the client to a prior period using the File > Select Period to Process dialog.
- Help > Repair dialog. Enables groups members to open the Help > Repair dialog to refresh the client list; to enable client data compression (and thereby save hard drive space); to compact or decompress a selected client database; to delete client locks or user locks (for example, after a nonstandard system shutdown of the computer that leaves the client or user locks open); to populate other CS Professional Suite software applications such as FileCabinet CS; to repair vendor links after converting client data from another software product other than The Write-Up Solution II (WS2 for DOS); or to show details such as file date and version number of each of the software components of your firm's CSA software.
- Event Tracking configuration. Enables group members to open and use the Event Tracking tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog.
- Event Monitor view. Enables group members to open and use the Utilities > Event Monitor dialog.
- Retrieve available updates. Enables group members to retrieve CS Connect updates at any time. When this checkbox is left unmarked, updates can be selectively pushed to staff members at a time that is most convenient for them. This is especially helpful when multiple staff are working in the field in Engagement CS.
