The Excel Time Entry Import utility allows you to import employee time entry into payroll check entry for a new or existing client directly from an Excel spreadsheet. The Excel Time Entry Import dialog displays the selected file to be imported and allows you to identify and label the type of information in each column.

The spreadsheet containing the check data to be imported must be set up in the following way.

  • The first column of data in your import file must contain the employee ID number.
  • The second column of data in your import file must contain the employee's department.
  • There can be no blank rows between records.

From the Tasks > Payroll Check Entry window, choose Edit > Excel Time Entry Import. Enter or browse for the file you want to import and then click the Import button.
