Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017.

Some processes documented in the Help & How-To Center are no longer applicable, due to the discontinuation of these CSA modules.

During the first import or prior to subsequent imports of client data that has been exported from QuickBooks Pro, use this dialog to choose the corresponding CSA location or department numbers for each QuickBooks Pro location or department included in the client's data. This information is specific to the selected CSA client.

Accountant's Assistant: You can choose Utilities > Accountant's Assistant, and then choose QuickBooks Pro. From the Accountant's Assistant main window, choose Setup > Locations/Departments.

Accountant's Assistant: or Trial Balance CS with GL: This dialog appears automatically during the import process if you choose Yes when prompted to import classes prior to the import.


  • The Assign Classes dialog is accessible only if the CSA client's Chart of Accounts mask has been set up to accommodate locations or departments. The CSA Chart of Accounts mask must contain Ls or Ds, but not both. If the Chart of Accounts mask contains both, a warning message appears.
  • QuickBooks Pro classes can be imported as locations or departments, but not both.
