A recurring template type journal entry functions in the same manner as a Recurring journal entry; the same entry will be repeated in each period until it is deleted; the transaction will appear as a recurring type with the period end date as the transaction date. However, for a recurring template, the entry will appear without an amount and the Recurring Template dialog opens so that you can fill in the amounts.

If at least one recurring template type journal entry has already been recorded and saved:

• The Recurring Templates dialog opens automatically when you first open the Transaction Entry window after advancing the GL period to the next beyond the latest period ending date.
• You can manually open the Recurring Template dialog from the Tasks > Transaction Entry window to edit or delete the template by choosing Recurring Template from the Edit menu or from the F3 or right-click context menu.
