The Signoff dialog enables staff members to choose whether to sign off as a Preparer or Reviewer or as one of up to three user-defined signoff type.

Highlight the document in the Tree View window, right-click to open the context menu, choose Workpaper Properties, and then click the Add or Edit button below the Signoff grid in the Workpaper Properties dialog.

Special information

  • Only one of each signoff type can be used to sign off a workpaper in the engagement. Therefore, the maximum number of signoffs on the Signoff grid in the Workpaper Properties dialog is five.
  • To add a signoff automatically, right-click a document or workpaper in the Tree View window to open the context menu and choose Signoff.
  • To open the Signoff dialog quickly, select a document in the tree view and press CTRL+S.
  • To sign off multiple documents at the same time using the same signoff type, you can use the Multiple Document Signoff feature.
  • To add a signoff or to modify an existing signoff, you must first refresh any outdated documents. This includes signoffs for single or multiple documents or the entire engagement.

    Note: If the Refresh upon Signoff option is marked in the Engagement User Preferences dialog, the document is automatically refreshed upon sign off whether the on-demand toggle is turned ON or OFF. See Refreshing engagement documents on demand for details.
