The Signoff Types dialog enables you to define up to five types of signoff designations to use for engagements or documents. A Preparer (Type 1) and a Reviewer (Type 2) signoff type are already provided by default (and cannot be renamed), and you may define up to three additional signoff types.

From the CSA main window or from the Engagement CS workspace, choose Setup > System Configuration > Signoff Types. Highlight an optional type (Type 3, 4, or 5), click the Edit button, and then enter a unique name or description for the signoff type.

  • Signoff types are stored in CSA as global data, and are included when the global database is backed up or restored.
  • The Preparer and Reviewer signoff types (Type 1 and Type 2, respectively) are provided by default and cannot be renamed.
  • Signoff Types 3, 4, and 5 are undefined but can be added as global signoff types for use with any engagement client.
  • When a type description is assigned to a signoff in an engagement, Engagement CS stores the type number. Therefore, if a type description has been edited in the Setup > System Configuration > Signoff Types dialog, the latest type description displays for all engagements based on the type number.
