Use the Special Calculations tab of the State Tax Information dialog to enter rates and amounts needed for the calculation of specific state withholding amounts during payroll check processing. The fields on this tab apply to states that compute withholding tax in either of the following ways:

  • at a fixed percentage of either federal withholding or taxable wages, or
  • at flat marginal tax rate on wages above a specified threshold amount based on the number of exemptions claimed.

Choose Setup > System Configuration > Payroll Tax Information > State. In the State Tax Information dialog, click a state or other jurisdiction to select it and then choose the Special Calculations tab.
