Use the Data Entry tab of the Adjusting Journal Entries Options dialog to define data entry options for use in the Adjusting Journal Entries window.
From the Adjusting Journal Entries window, choose Edit > Options.
Fields & buttons
To have the program automatically increment the reference field for each new transaction that you enter, mark the Increment AJE references by checkbox, and also specify the number by which to increment.
Notes
- The reference can include up to 9 alphanumeric characters, with reference numbers of 100 or greater reserved for checks (unless specified otherwise in the General Ledger tab of the File > Client Properties dialog).
- You may use up to 7 decimal places provided that the total number of characters for the reference including the decimal is no greater than 9.
To customize data entry options within the Date Field, mark the Have system automatically option to activate the following options:
- Enter period ending date
- Enter month and year
- Enter year
- Leave date field blank
To customize data entry options within the Description Field, mark the Have system automatically option to activate the following options:
- Enter journal description for all entries
- Leave description field blank
To enable the option to enter a description and a Workpaper reference for each distribution in the Adjusting Journal Entries window, mark the Enter multiple descriptions and WP references for journal entries checkbox.
