Text variables exist to help speed the creation of financial statements and transmittal letters. When creating a statement or a letter, you may wish to use text items that are repeated both within and across the statements and letters. By turning these often-used text items into variables, you can simply insert the variable in the appropriate location(s) rather than re-typing the text each time you need it. The program can accommodate up to 99 different text variables.

Choose Setup > System Configuration > Text Variables.

Note: Text variables are global and may be used with any client.

Special information

After creating the variables that you need, when using either the Financial Statement Editor or the Transmittal Letter Editor, you may insert a text variable by choosing Variable from the Insert menu and selecting the Text option at the top of the Variables dialog. Highlight the variable you wish to insert and then click the OK button to insert the variable at the cursor position in the currently selected document.
