Engagement CS is a product within the Creative Solutions Accounting software that is fully integrated with Trial Balance CS and the Financial Reporter module to provide you with a flexible and secure environment in which to prepare engagements. You can link with the CSA trial balance data and update your workpapers in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word either inside or outside of the Engagement CS workspace, enabling you to take advantage of integrated menus for enhanced productivity.
As a staff member working in the field, you have the ability to receive and send transfer files from the Master Client Data (MCD) to a separate workstation or laptop (when you have the laptop version of the program installed on your computer).
When the engagement has been updated in the field, you can update engagement files in the Master Client Data by synchronizing with the master data or by creating transfer files to be copied to a shared network location or removable media that is accessible by the master engagement.

- You can use Engagement CS to organize and file all your currently active audit documentation in one location.
- You can use FileCabinet CS (if you have the product installed on your machine) to store all of your completed engagements.
- You can define groups on the Groups tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog in CSA. Each group can be set up by a staff in charge to perform specific tasks within the engagement.
- You can set up individual staff members with password access on the Staff tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog in CSA.
Engagement CS includes complete integration with the following industry standard guidance aids (if you have the appropriate products installed):
- PPC's Practice Aids
- PPC's Workpapers (August 2003 CD release or higher)
- PPC's Checkpoint Tools (available on the May 2004 or higher CD release)
- PPC's SMART Practice Aids (October 2006 or higher CD release)
- Any other guidance available in Microsoft Word or Excel format
- You can easily add review notes in an engagement that can be viewed in the Review Notes window of the Engagement CS workspace. These notes can be replied to, and cleared and reviewed at a later time by a reviewer or another member assigned to the engagement team.
- You can add and attach sticky notes to the workpapers or other documents that are open in the View Document window.
- You can open Trial Balance CS in the Engagement CS window to perform the following tasks:
- Add, modify or delete journals entries.
- Open the Trial Balance grid (if you are assigned to work on it).
- You can set up grouping schedules, tickmarks, balance definitions, and additional amounts in CSA.
- You can print a CSA Financial Statement, Transmittal Letter, or report into the engagement.
- Virtually any type of file can be stored with the engagement and/or placed inside a workpaper:
- PDF
- Text
- Word
- Image file (.bmp, .jpg, or other image files)
- HTML
- Generic files (non-viewable)
- Excel
- You can view and/or edit Word and Excel workpapers from within Engagement CS (other files can be edited in their own applications).
