Signing off on workpapers

Alerts and notices

AdvanceFlow uses signoffs to show that a workpaper is complete. There are multiple ways to sign off on workpapers in AdvanceFlow.

Note: Signoffs for a given workpaper are visible in the Workpapers workspace and in the Workpaper Properties dialog. For more information, see Viewing and editing workpaper properties.

Signing off in the Workpapers workspace

You can sign off on a workpaper by right-clicking the workpaper and choosing Sign Off and then the signoff type from the context menu, or you can use the following steps.

  1. Click the Engagements button at the bottom of the navigation pane, and then select the applicable engagement in the navigation pane.
  2. In the Workpapers tab or the Workpapers List, select the workpaper to which you want to add a sign off.

To select multiple workpapers to sign off at the same time, hold the CTRL or SHIFT key while selecting applicable workpapers.

  3. Click the Sign Off Signoff button button in the ribbon, and in the dialog that opens, select the applicable sign off type and enter the signoff date.

You can enter the date manually, or use the calendar Calendar button button or arrow Arrow buttons buttons to choose a value for the Date field.

Deleting Signoffs

If you have the appropriate AdvanceFlow security permissions, you can delete signoffs by right-clicking the workpaper and choosing Signoff > Delete signoff, or you can use the following steps.

  1. In the Workpapers tab or the Workpapers List, click the workpaper to select it.
  2. Click the Properties button in the ribbon.
  3. Click the Sign Offs tab.
  4. In the Sign off list, click the signoff you want to delete.
  5. Click the Delete button in the toolbar.
  6. Click OK.

Notes

  • If you have appropriate security permissions, you can change the date and time of your signoff. The best practice in this scenario is to leave the date and time as they are for accurate reporting.
  • There are currently five available AdvanceFlow signoff types. Your administrator can change the default signoff types to meet your firm's needs.
  • You cannot sign off as another person. Your signoff is based on your login credentials.
  • If you have appropriate security permissions, you can overwrite signoffs. If you sign off on a document and then sign off again, the date and time of the signoff will be updated to use the most recent date and time.
