Adding a structured-storage data location

  1. Choose Setup > System Configuration.
  2. Click the Data Locations tab.
  3. Click the Add/Modify Data Location button.
  4. In the Data Location Format dialog, click the Standard format option and click Next.

    Note: You cannot change the format of a data location after it has been created. However, drawer data is automatically converted when you copy drawers between structured-storage and database data locations.

  5. In the Add Data Location dialog, click the Enter Path button and locate the folder in which you want FileCabinet CS to store data for this data location.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Enter an alias for this data location in the provided field.
  8. If you want to convert FileCabinet CS data to the structured-storage format after adding the new data location, mark the Open Copy Drawers dialog after adding new data location checkbox.
  9. Click OK to close the Add Data Location dialog. The new location is displayed in the data locations list.
  10. Click OK to close the System Configuration dialog.
