You can use Digita Connect Background Services to keep Digita FileCabinet updated and to transmit certain documents to Digita NetClient. In addition, you can determine who has access to Digita Connect Background Services.


By default, the Enable background services checkbox is marked to apply pending updates at 3 a.m. eastern time. However, you can apply updates at any time. To change the default settings, choose Setup > System Configuration, and then click the Digita Connect + Misc tab.


  • Verify that all other users have closed Digita FileCabinet, all other Digita Professional Suite applications, and all Microsoft Office applications, and the computer you use to apply updates is logged in to the network.
  • To retrieve and update licenses, you must call or schedule an unattended call to our secure data centres.
  • When Digita Connect Background Services is enabled, a Digita Connect icon displays in the Windows taskbar notification area.

Digita NetClient Documents

If you are licensed for Digita NetFirm, you can enable automatic transmittal of documents to Digita NetClient. Digita Connect Background Services will scan for drawers with a status of Changed or Forced and will automatically transmit updated documents to Digita NetClient.

Access to Digita Connect Background Services

By default, all computers on the network are allowed to run background services. To limit this option to only the computer you are using, choose Setup > System Configuration, click the Digita Connect + Misc tab, and then select the Only this computer option.
