Enabling advanced security options

When you use advanced user/group security instead of standard security, you set up users and assign them to predefined groups or groups that you create. This allows you to limit access to specific areas of DT FileCabinet.

To enable advanced user/group security, follow these steps.

  1. Choose Setup > System Configuration > Security.
  2. Mark the Enable Advanced User/Group Security checkbox.
  3. After viewing the information in the DT FileCabinet warning dialog that opens, click the Yes button. (Click the No button to return to the Security tab without enabling advanced security.)

Notes

  • Marking the Enable Advanced User/Group Security checkbox requires the master password. If you have not yet set up a master password, you will be prompted to do so.
  • If the Enable Standard Security button appears in the Security tab, then advanced user/group security is currently enabled.
  • For information on setting standard security options, see Setting standard security options.
