Configuring the automatic backup of Fixed Assets CS client data into FileCabinet CS

Show expandable text

If you are licensed for FileCabinet CS, you can configure Fixed Assets CS to automatically back up your client data to FileCabinet CS. Backups occur when you close a client's data in Fixed Assets CS. By default, a maximum of three backups per client are stored in FileCabinet CS, with a maximum of one backup per day.

To enable this feature or change these defaults, perform the following steps.

  1. Choose Setup > System Configuration.

Note: Depending on your security configuration, you may need to enter the master password before you can access the System Configuration dialog.

  2. Click the FileCabinet CS tab.
  3. Make the desired changes using the fields in this dialog. For information on a specific field, see the FileCabinet CS tab overview.
  4. When you are done, click OK to close the System Configuration dialog.

For information about restoring client data from FileCabinet CS, see Restoring client data.

Notes
  • The Automatically back up client data into the FileCabinet CS checkbox in the Setup > System Configuration > FileCabinet CS tab is not marked by default.
  • When using this feature, a folder called "Data Backup" is created under each drawer ID in the FileCabinet CS Folder Window list. (Drawer IDs in FileCabinet CS correspond to their respective client IDs in Fixed Assets CS.)
