Adding a unit to a multiple-unit activity

Fixed Assets CS allows you to define up to 250 business activities for each form, schedule, or fund that is capable of having multiple activities.

To add a unit to the multiple-unit activity, perform the following steps.

  1. Open the appropriate client.
  2. In the Asset List window, choose Setup > Activities.
  3. Click the Add button.
  4. Choose the form or schedule to which you will add a unit from the Form/Schedule drop-down list.
  5. Enter a unit number (1 - 250) in the Unit field.
  6. If all of the assets for this activity are held or located in the same state, choose a situs from the Situs field.

    Note: Situs will not be able to be entered for 1065 Business or COGS activities.

  7. Enter a description of the multiple-unit activity in the Description field.
  8. If necessary, click the option for the appropriate Method/Life Wizard type.
  9. If necessary, select the appropriate type for this activity from the Economic type field. The economic type enables the Method/Life Wizard to select the correct lives to use when Machinery, equipment or fixture is chosen as the asset class.
  10. Click the Enter button to add the new unit.
  11. Click Done to add the new unit and close the Activity dialog.

The new unit appears in the folders block.
