The folder where your clients are stored can be shared by multiple Fixed Assets CS users. The application includes a built-in security feature that prevents more than one person at a time from accessing a client. If you try to access a client that someone else has open, Fixed Assets CS displays an error message and shows the network ID of the current user working on that client.

1. The network location must be able to support long file names.

   If it does not, before proceeding you need to consult with your company's network administrator about setting up the network so user IDs are three characters or less.

2. The Fixed Assets CS desktop setup application must be installed on each network workstation where you want to use the application.
