Use this dialog to export asset data to a file for use with other applications.

To open this dialog, choose Utilities > Export Asset Data.

Columns group box

Select a report layout from the drop-down list.

Note: The drop-down list displays all comparative reports and any custom reports you have set up in Fixed Assets CS.

Mark the Include column headings checkbox to have Fixed Assets CS generate column heading information in the export file.

Mark the Include column totals checkbox to have Fixed Assets CS generate column totals in the export file.

Format group box

  • DIF: Select this option to create an export file in DIF format. DIF files can be imported directly into many spreadsheet applications without any further data conversion.
  • ASCII: Select this option to create an export file in ASCII format. ASCII files are compatible with most word processing applications.
  • XLSX (Excel): Select this option to create an export file in XLSX format. XLSX files are compatible with Microsoft Excel.

Note: The file extension in the Name of file to be created via export field is automatically updated if you change the format option.

File group box

Indicates the location where the export file will be created. Click the Change Location button to select a different drive or path.

Click this button to specify a different drive or path for the export file.

This shows the name of the file that will be created.

Note: The file name always defaults to the client ID, followed by either a DIF, ASCII, or XLSX file extension. However, the file name can be changed by entering a new name in this field.
